Honda Hybrid: Attracting customers who’d want to get a boost of electricity with their brand new Civic or, more likely, pleasing dealers who complain about the lack of the Corolla Hybrid, the crew at Honda is launching an electric version of the cult Civic this year.
People with fond memories know this isn’t the first attack on the hybrid, with the Civic Hybrid first appearing about two years ago in its country of origin. In the United States, it was a mystery when the model disappeared in 2015, and it has yet to be mentioned formally since then. Honda plans to offer the engine in hatchback and sedan versions this time.

To show that many of the components are made in the United States, The company has highlighted the hybrid electric power unit with two motors developed in the Honda Transmission Plant and the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine produced in the Anna Engine Plant. Anna Engine Plant. Both of these plants are located situated in Ohio. If this all sounds familiar, both are currently supporting the manufacturing of the Honda CR-V hybrid.
The powertrain specs weren’t released to this specific market; however, it’s worth noting that the EU-spec Civic Hybrids are said to produce the equivalent of 181 horsepower and 232 pounds of torque. Ultimately, the CR-V Hybrid mentioned above – equipped with a naturally-aspirated 2.0L and a dual-motor system – has 204 horsepower and 247 twist units on the North American market.
“Our associates are proud to play an important role in the Honda electrification strategy by adding production of the new Civic hybrid to the CR-V hybrid we now build,” said Roxanna Metz, the plant’s co-lead for the Indiana Auto Plant. Experts at the plant suggest that the Civic Hybrid could make up over 40% of Civic sales. This seems like an ambitious goal until one realizes that 56 % of American sales of the CR-V and Accord are hybrids, with over one-quarter of Honda’s total sales in the United States being a hybrid with some electric power.

The production of the new Civic hybrid car is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024 at Honda’s facility in Alliston, Ontario. It will then be followed by the hatchback that will be made in the Indiana Auto Plant.
The process of buying a car can be challenging, even for people who are awed by automobiles. The people who are reading this at the time of publication are those I’m referring to who are driven to consume news and information about your favourite four-wheeled vehicles and debate them within the discussion. You have a lot of opinions about brands and models and have often had experiences with them to back the views of others.
Imagine, for instance, someone who wants a car but doesn’t give an inch about automobiles. What do they do to determine what they should purchase? The people who are visiting these pages may have come across this site through the use of a search engine several times ago. They have a huge job ahead of them, sorting through information and opinions to make a purchasing decision.
What kind of brand, such as Alfa Romeo, targets either of these customers? Many of the fans in my opening paragraph have opinions about an automobile that sports, such as that 2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia you see before you, based on the past impressions of a carmaker who quit the US before the time that the O.J. Simpson trial was concluded or maybe a few who have had the pleasure of driving the latest version. Another buyer with no interest in cars probably needs to learn about the brand or model in any way.
My impressions of the Giulia, which is more than half a decade since the last time I was in it, remain the same. It’s an amazing driving experience that is more enjoyable than similar-priced and larger cars made in Germany. My time in the car was brief because Alfa Romeo invited journalists to an all-line celebration on the M1 Concourse facility north of Detroit. A few laps on the track were available in the stunning twin-turbo Quadrifoglio and street drives that included those of the Stelvio, Tonale, and Giulia. In fairness, it’s not enough time to be familiar with the subtleties and peculiarities of a car to remind you of the essence of what the car is about.
